General
Located in inner suburban Melbourne, we provide: accommodation for overseas students; Australian style family support; security; and a practical and safe way to learn English and adapt to studies in Melbourne. Freedom is offered as responsibility is personally developed. We aim to provide a healthy atmosphere consistent with student academic success in Australia. Home environment has comfortable rooms which are; hydronically heated and fan cooled. Rooms are a variety of sizes; large bright rooms may be shared (sorry no couples). All have Internet wireless connectivity. Meals are available. The food is healthy and has variety.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms are clean, bright and fully furnished. Linen is supplied. Hydronmic heating provides safe, comfortable warmth in winter. Connection for phone is available, as is wireless broadband Internet connectivity.

Common areas
Kitchen includes: stove, oven, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery and cleaning materials.
Living Room: To relax or bring guests. There are comfortable chairs, coffee table, and TV.
Laundry: A large washing machine is available for students, one load per week. Washing powder is provided. Hand washing facilities are also available.
Garden: A spacious green area provides a peaceful environment as well as a place for exercise.

Special arrangements
Meals (dinner and breakfast) are available by arrangement:-
-Family dinner is at 7pm nightly. Quality, healthy Asian style and Western style meals. Long round table discussions in a supportive atmosphere. Students are encouraged to develop both listening and speaking skills.
-Supplies for a western style breakfast (tea/coffee, cereal and toast) are provided.
Guardianship We can act as official Guardians for students who are under 18 years.
Holiday excursions Scenic tours, overnight trips and camping holidays may be available.

About Us
Rosy
works at Melbourne University and she also teaches high school Business Studies, Accounting and Mandarin. She can help with studies and also liaison with schools, colleges and universities. Rosy can speak some Japanese.
Tom has sound English language skills and enjoys assisting students. His work of 20 years is with the Australian Government. He is interested in music, world affairs, travel, camping and sport. He is the fix it person.
Julia cooks most meals, generally Asian style, and she ensures that the cuisine is always of excellent quality and with plenty of variety. She always uses top quality ingredients and we all eat together. Julia speaks Cantonese and English as well as her native Mandarin.

The Yarra River

The Fairfield Area
Fairfield is about 5km from the CBD. It has good facilities and is well serviced, clean, and safe. Mainly a multicultural, family neighbourhood.
Transport
Hom is 5 minutes easy walk to the Fairfield train station, from there to Melbourne CBD is about 15 minutes. Buses also run in the area. Zone 1 location - transport costs are the minimum.
Shops
The Fairfield shopping centre in Station Street represents many cultures Easter and Western. The are many quality restaurants (Japanese, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Thai etc.) and fresh food shops. Station St has three supermarkets, a public library, medical centre and more.
Recreation
Near home are swimming pools, tennis courts, gymnasium, bowling, skateboarding, basketball, athletics, golf, and grassy ovals.
The Yarra Bend Park is nearby. Boating is special. There are also beautiful nature walking trails and bike paths that follow the river.
Many native Australian plants and animals can be seen in the parklands.
