CAP508 intumescent interior acrylic paint

CAP508 is an interior intumescent thin film water based coating capable of providing a fire resistant barrier on a variety of substrates, including plasterboard, lath and plaster, fibrous plaster, fibre cement sheeting, particle board and wood products.

When the coating is heated to approximately 140C it expands into a foam char up to 50mm thick which insulates the underlying substrate from the fire.

CAP508 is suitable for residential, multi-family commercial and industrial projects.

CAP508 has been designed for use on wallsand ceilings and can be applied by spray, roller or brush.

With class leading test results, approved applicators, quality control programmes, , CAP COATINGS offers a cost effective easy alternative solution to achieving compliance in fire upgrade situations.

CAP COATINGS’ water based thin film technology means a durable high quality paint finish can be achieved.

Surfaces can now be fire rated overnight, with minimal disruption to building occupants.

AS 1530.3 & AS 1530.4.

ADVANTAGES OF THIS NEW SYSTEM ALLOWS ARCHITECTS AND BUILDERS TO OVERCOME DESIGN PROBLEMS WITH UPGRADES TO EXISTING DWELLINGS AND HERITAGE BUILDINGS. ALTHOUGH  FINAL THICKNESS VARIES DEPENDING ON THE SUBSTRATE THICKNESS AND COMPOSITION BEING FIRE RATED. 

CAP508 IS SPRAYED AT 750 MICRON OR 0.75mm THICKNESS TO ACHEIVE 60/60/60 FRL. THIS IS ACHIEVED WITH ONE TO TWO COATS WITH OUR HIGH VISCOSITY AIRLESS PAINT PUMPS.
