loveless
is named after the fabulous my bloody valentine record of the same title
loveless started out as a side-project for the keyboardist from popular australian synth-guitar pop-mash-up group genshen (www.genshen.net).
loveless was formed from a need for Gillian to explore shoegazey styles more thoroughly, but with a catch... using her current instrument of choice, vintage keyboards!
working with manager/producer quentin brown, Gillian claims to have invented a new style - "electro-gaze"... a minimalist new wave style with shoegazey stylings - loveless is a melting pot of 80s new wave and 90s shoegazey stylings...
loveless has quickly moved from a kitschy obsession unveiled at parties to being a serious venture playing the hippest venues in her home town of brisbane, and generating a lot of interest.
to look at playing live, loveless can be described as an alien landscape of synths, a drum machine, pedals, innumerable leads and busy musos! the aim is to play everything organically in the live context.
loveless has a live recording of 7 songs.
