CRAWFORD'S BODY FOUND!? July 12th, 2010
Police in Australia and the United States, believe that they may have located the body of Elmer Crawford, in a small
Texas town, San Angelo. Following a tip off from Australia, facial recognition experts from the FBI have stated that a man
who died in 2005, is Elmer Crawford.
Police now want to do a DNA test on a living relative of Crawford to determine, if in fact, the man in Texas is
Elmer Crawford. Unfortunately, they didn't know of any. One would have thought, the first place they would have looked is
Maghera in Northern Ireland, where just about every Crawford in the town is related to Elmer.
I also knew of two women, who'd contacted me years ago, claiming to be relatives of Elmer. One, Trisha Crawford who lives in
the UK, was adamant she was Crawford's daughter. Years of research always lead her back to Maghera, and her mother had told her
her father's name was "Elmer Crawford". Ms. Crawford spoke on Neil Mitchell's 3AW morning show on the 14th of July.
The other lady, lived in Florida, and claimed to be a half sister of Crawford. Betty Antsis also did her research, and the family
eventually disclosed to her, her father's notorious history and sent her a copy of my book, Almost Perfect. Ms Antsis has spoken to
The Age newspaper in Melbourne.
Both women DID contact the Victoria Police some years ago, but were met with SCEPTICISM. That's a different story today, and both
have graciously agreed to supply DNA samples in the hopes that Crawford is identified and this 40 year old mystery can finally
have closure of some sort.
Lessons Learnt. In the frenzy following this revelation, I was contacted by many media outlets in Australia. These included
Neil Mitchell of talkback radio 3AW was the first, The Herald-Sun newspaper, The Age Newspaper, The ABC, Channel 10 and Channel 7.
I was the only person who knew of these two potential blood relatives of Crawford.
Reading the newspapers, you would think it was they who had done the research and came up with
these two potential relatives. For some reason, giving credit or acknowledgment to me was not possible without me asking them to.
This information regarding the two potential blood relatives came from me alone. The first person I passed it to was Neil Mitchell of 3AW in Melbourne, and then to the homicide sqad in Melbourne. (No
response from them). The Herald-Sun, The Age, Channel 7 and Channel 10 all contacted me and I did pass on this information
to follow up.
