The movie 'Arsenic and Old Lace' was made in 1944 and starred Cary Grant, who played the nephew of a couple of weird aunts whose hobby was poisoning the lodgers and hiding the bodies in the window seat before having them buried in the basement.

Apologies for the quality of these photos, they were taken pre-digital camera and the room is no longer available for retakes

One of the aunts sits on the window seat trunk while the other aunt pours a little fortifier into their tea.

The lodger has already been dispatched

but didn't quite fit in the trunk

What a dear old lady!

Table lamp was made from jewellery findings and beads, the table was decoupaged.
