At Glasgow the
17th day of September 1832 compeared John Kerr writer in Glasgow
and gave in the inventory to be recorded whereof the tenor follows
Inventory of
the personal estate and effects of the deceased Joseph Bain Advocate
at the time of his death which took place at Morriston near Glasgow
on the 19th day of February 1832 given up by his brother John Bain
Mail Contractor in Glasgow as sole executor quo nearest in kin

At Glasgow the
15th day of Sept 1832 years In the presence of Walter Moir Esquire
Commissary Depute of Lanarkshire appeared John Bain Mail Contractor
in Glasgow only brother and executor qua nearest in kin of the deceased
Joseph Bain Advocate who being solemnly sworn and examined depones
that the said Joseph Bain died at Morriston near Glasgow upon the
19th day of February 1832 years and that the deponent has entered
upon the possession and management of the said deceased personal
estate as executor qua nearest in kin. That the deponent does not
know of any settlement or writing relative to the disposal of the
deceaseds personal estate and effects or any part thereof. That
the foresaid inventory which is signed by the deponent and the said
commissary as relative hereto is a full and complete inventory of
all the personal or moveable estate and effects of the said deceased
Joseph Bain where situated already recovered or known to be existing
belonging or due to him beneficially at the time of his death and
that the value of the said estate situated in Scotland is of the
value of One Thousand pounds and under the value of 1500. All which
is truth as the deponent shall answer to God (signed John Bain Walter
