My Dynan
Family
The Dynan family
is an ancient name, its derivatives are found pretty much anywhere
there were Celts. In Ireland during medieval times, the name was
primarily associated
with the southern province of Munster in the modern County of Cork-
for more information check out Dynan
under Name Meanings.
Current research
identifies the earliest known ancestor of our Darrough line as being
John Dynan of Kilbarra in Tipperary, Ireland. However little
is known of the family until the emigration of his son James
Dynan to Australia in 1882.
