Morayshire departed
from Southampton on October 9 1855, and arrived in Australia on
19 January 1956. Inspection by emigration onboard the ship on 22
January 1856 provides the following information.

After dropping
passengers in NSW, the Morayshire was engaged to move the people
of Pitcairn Island - descendants of the Bounty mutineers - to Norfolk
Island. The Pitcairns had recieved permission to relocate in 1853
from the British Government - due to problems being to experienced
on Pitcairn. On 3rd March 1856 the whole population of Pitcairn
- 40 men, 47 women, 54 boys and 53 girls a total of 194 persons
- embarked on "The Morayshire" which arrived at Norfolk Island
on 8th June 1856.
