In semester one, students who attended found this information seminar very useful, so I encourage everyone who has any queries at all to attend and make use of the expertise Stamfords Lawyers has to offer.

EVENT: ASEAN Cocktail Night

The event that everyone has been waiting for is finally here. It’s time to get out that extra special outfit because this is THE party to attend before exams. Your ticket gets you UNLIMITED spirits, beer and soft drinks AND 2 cocktails, plus you get to help yourself to a selection of finger food.

EVENT: The Wok - ASEAN Vs. AA Footy Competition

The Wok’ is coming… but what is it?

‘The Wok’ is an annual university ‘face-off’ between the clubs and societies of rival universities of Melbourne. This year, tradition begins with The University of Melbourne ‘Australasian Association’ locking horns with Monash ‘Asean’. These two clubs have always been the dominant Asian communities at their respective Uni’s, and the time has come for them to sort their differences by way of Aussie Rules Footy!

Yes, that’s right! This is the first ever, inter-uni, Aa vs Asean Aussie Rules Football competition. The deeply entrenched rivalry between the two clubs has escalated to the point of no return, and Footy is the only way to settle it! The winner will take home ‘The Wok’ and keep it for a year, until they return to answer the challenge again, next year.

The ‘Wok’ will be one of the biggest events on both Club’s calendar, and will mark the beginner of a new tradition. So come along, and support your Uni for a day of pure fun and entertainment. Play, watch, or even cheerlead! It’s all happening! There will be food, drinks, prizes, and of course, fame and honour to be won! Do not miss ‘The Wok’!

EVENT: ASEAN Club Ball
DATE: Friday 22nd of April
TIME: 7:00pm - 12:00am (Afterparty at The Next Blue 12:00am onwards)
VENUE: San Remo Ballroom (365 Nicholson St, Carlton North 3054)
COST: $65 for members and $75 for non-members
THEME: Masquerade

If it's only one event you are going to attend this year make sure it's our annual ASEAN Ball! Tickets will be on sale from the Monday 21st of March till Wednesday 13th of April (when final payment must be made). Like usual, we will be located at the tables in front of STA Travel. Tickets are limited so please get them early!

A ticket to the ball includes entry to San Remo Ballroom where you will be served canapés at the beginning of the night followed by a 3 course meal. It also includes free unlimited drinks (soft-drink, beer, basic spirit and house-wine) all night, entertainment, and the chance to win prizes at the door. Transportation to The Next Blue after party will be provided provided free of charge as a thank you, from us!

We urge you to start organising tables of 10 ASAP. We accept table deposits of $100, so if you don't gots the cash right now it don't matter ;) However, final payments ARE required by Wednesday 13th of April.

If you have any questions at all, please come by the tables in the campus centre between 12:00pm and 2:00pm daily, and ask one of our friendly committee members!

For $15 dollars (or $20 if you’re a non-member) you get 2 free drinks, finger food and of course your own five minutes of fame with the mic! Tickets will be on sale from Monday 14th of March at noon. Find us at the tables outside the STA office (inside the Campus Centre).

COST: FREE (to ASEAN Club members)

As an ASEAN Club member, you’ll get free sausages and drink and at the same time, meet and greet some of the fellow ASEAN Club members! If your friends haven’t yet signed up, this is also a great chance for them to do so.
