Hey guys! Hope you guys have had a fantastic year both academically and socially. ASEAN have two more events before the end of the year!

The Wok’ is coming… but what is it?

‘The Wok’ is an annual university ‘face-off’ between the clubs and societies of rival universities of Melbourne. This year, tradition begins with The University of Melbourne ‘Australasian Association’ locking horns with Monash ‘Asean’. These two clubs have always been the dominant Asian communities at their respective Uni’s, and the time has come for them to sort their differences by way of Aussie Rules Footy!

Yes, that’s right! This is the first ever, inter-uni, Aa vs Asean Aussie Rules Football competition. The deeply entrenched rivalry between the two clubs has escalated to the point of no return, and Footy is the only way to settle it! The winner will take home ‘The Wok’ and keep it for a year, until they return to answer the challenge again, next year.

The ‘Wok’ will be one of the biggest events on both Club’s calendar, and will mark the beginner of a new tradition. So come along, and support your Uni for a day of pure fun and entertainment. Play, watch, or even cheerlead! It’s all happening! There will be food, drinks, prizes, and of course, fame and honour to be won! Do not miss ‘The Wok’!

The ASEAN Masquerade Ball 2005 has come and gone…

On behalf of the whole committee, thank you to all those who came along to be a part of the ball, I hope everyone had a wonderful & memorable time! Visit our website to relive some moments in still motion! Please also feel free to send us your own photos for us to post on the website, we'd love to see them!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the committee members and volunteers for their time and effort in making the ball the success it was. Many thanks also goes to our sponsors, as without them the ball would not have been possible in the first place.

To other news, the club is planning on holding a seminar (free food included of course!) and a movie night very soon. So keep your eyes peeled and your ears pricked! Thanks again!

The 2005 ASEAN Masquerade Ball is SOLD OUT!! It promises to be a huge night this coming Friday, 22nd of April. Please collect your tickets, with your receipts, this Wednesday & Thursday during 12-2pm at the tables outside STA Travel (inside the campus centre).

Thank you for coming to our stall on o-week and signing up. It’s going to be a year jam-packed with all sorts of events. As you may already know from o-week, our club is planning to host the following events in the first semester:
