Here is the casting clamped on "THE THING" and in the process of being set up.

Back side of arrangement. Notice high tech wire holding clamps from flopping down.

Trusty piece of wire taped in place and being rotated to check set up of face of casting.

Within cooee all around, so all is well.

Not much room down here, it's almost touching the rear vee of lathe bed.

The casting is sitting on 3 equal length spacers(made from old shock absorber inner tube).

After centering with centre drill is now being drilled with a drill I repaired some time back.

Cutting the hole out a bit bigger. I should have tried casting the part using a core so there'd be a hole cast in. I wouldn't have had to do so much machining. But the machining is probably faster than mucking around making a cored pattern then making a core etc. I've never done a cored casting yet so will have to try to get around to doing it some day.
