roll icons including Tommy Sands, Merv Benton, Vicky O’Keefe, Johnny
Devlin, Lonnie Lee, Betty McQuade, Frankie J. Holden and Colin Cook to

LEAD GUITAR
– RON EVANS
Ron began playing
lead guitar at age 17, when he founded the original “Gentry”.
Their talent was quickly recognised, and they soon found themselves playing
every week at Leggett’s Paladium and the Orama Ballroom.
After 4
exhaustive years, Ron changed direction and played with various function
bands around Melbourne. Three years later, he returned to the pub scene
in the hope of once again authentically reproducing the music of the 50’s
and 60’s.
Ron has performed with many of the best rock ‘n’
rollers in the land. He combines his incredible guitar skills not only
with leading the band, but takes full credit for giving the band its’
unique, rich sound attributed to the system he designed and built.

DRUMS
– ROB & DANN BOLDISTON
After playing guitar with Ron for 4 years, Rob swapped “picks for sticks” and joined Ron’s new group as drummer. They played the pub scene for a few years before deciding it was time to return to their “grassroots” and play authentic Rock 'n' Roll. After nearly 40 years - with many member and name changes - they are still together with a fabulous line-up of talent.
Rob, now retired and living in Gippsland, shares the drumming role with his son Dann. An accomplished drummer in his own right, Dann has worked in various bands covering a kaleidoscope of musical styles including Funk, Rock and Irish. More recently, Dann played drums in the Melbourne stage musical “The Rocky Horror Show” and is currently the deputy drummer in “Jersey Boys”, the story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons.
Having performed with The Stingers for over 12 years, both Rob and Dann have backed many, if not most of the sensational artists listed throughout the other biographies. No matter who is playing on the night, be assured you will enjoy the rock solid beat that IS Rock 'n' Roll.
