Easy Black Forrest Cake |

For cake: 1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus Devil's Food mix 1 can cherry pie filling (can use lite) 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 tsp. almond extract For Icing: 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/3 c. milk 1 c. granulated sugar 5 T. butter or margarine |

Chocolate Cherry Cake Mix everything together with a spoon. DO NOT use electric mixer. Pour into 9 x 13 greased and floured pan (can use cocoa instead of flour). Bake about 30 minutes at 350 F. Put everything but choc chips in heavy saucepan and heat until boiling. Stir constantly to keep from sticking. Once boiling, let boil for 1 minute without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in choc. chips until melted and mixture is smooth. A wire whisk works best for this. Pour hot icing on hot or warm cake. Smooth it out and let it stand until icing is set. It's wonderful!! Plus, the cook gets to lick the icing pan! |
