Syrupy Dumplings

Dumplings:

1 packet Suet
pinch salt
4 tblsp Self Raising Flour

Sauce:

1 cup castor sugar
2 cups water
2 tblsp golden syrup
Dumplings:
Mix all ingredients together in a basin, using sufficient ice cold water for form a stiff dough.
Take dessertspoons of the dough and roll into small balls.
Roll each ball in flour to seal.

Sauce:
Place all ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
Place dumplings into sauce.
Lower the heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.
The dumplings will 'bloat' and float when ready.

To Serve:
Place dumplings into dessert bowls, spoon over 1/2 cup of the sauce and top with whipped cream or ice cream.
