The bottom panels were placed together and holes drilled along the long edges about 100mm apart.. While still together electrical cable ties were used to "sew" the panels together along the keel edge. The assembly was opened out carefully and placed on the previously assembled frames and sides. The bottom panels were then "sewn" to the sides and bow and stern transoms with cable ties before turning the whole sructure over in preparation for taping the seams.
The sides were assembled with the bow and stern transoms and the forward centre seat frame. Stainless steel screws were used to hold everything together. The remaining frames were then assembled into their correct positions.
The frames outlines were drawn onto 10mm plywood and cut out using a jigsaw. The frames are at the transom, front of stern seat, stern and forward of centre seat, stern of bow seat and the bow transom. The edges were faired and cleaned up with a block plane and sandpaper.
The sides and bottom panels were drawn from the dimensions on the plan onto two sheets of 6mm ply . These were cut out using the jigsaw and then equivalent pieces clamped together and the edges faired and smoothed.. We ensured that the frame positions were marked on the inside faces of both the side and bottom panels.
