After the success of our previous group trips such as Snow Trip 2004, Snow Trip 2005, and the Philippines Trip 2006 it was decided long ago that another group escapade be attempted. With our epic plans to invade/conquer Southern or Central America being put on hold until 2010 due to the rigorous demands of the Nanobots, or the need to pander to "The Man" (as the case may be), it was agreed upon to venture into south-east Asia to savour the cultural delicacies and live like kings for a brief period. With the Philippines and Vietnam ruled out from previous trips, the logical choice of destination for our debauchery was Thailand.
As fate would have it, some members of the original Philo-ship would be unable to make this journey. However, there were other mates willing and able to subject their body to the tortures of innumerable Thai massages, banquets of seafood, and gallons of Thai liquor. Members of the original Philo-ship, Sim, Ev Mo, Sao and myself (Fox) were joined by Paul and Blai to round out the Thailo-ship.
We would spend a total of 19 days in Thailand from April 10, 2008 to April 28, 2008, travelling from Chiang Mai in the north to Phuket in the south, sampling the local cuisine and taking in the culture as we went. Read on to learn our fate.
