C.L.C. van Kretschmar died on 6 August 2009 at Port Macquarie, NSW. He retired
in Hongkong as Managing Director of Royal Interocean Lines.

Nick Slikker
retires
Nick
Slikker, ex Holland America Line Mate and now Master Cruise Consultant of
Travelscene Carlingford, has decided to swallow the anchor and take a
well-deserved rest.
As
a friend and as the Franchisee of Travelscene Carlingford Nick has been a
longstanding financial and practical supporter of Oud Roest Down Under and the
Annual Dutch Shipping Reunion – Sydney.
We
thank him for his continued support and wish him a happy retirement and as much
good health as is possible.
We
are looking forward to seeing him at our gatherings for many years to come.

I have received a request from South Africa for a KJCPL
House Flag (RIL Crown flag) for a Museum in Durban. Is there anyone who can
donate a flag that is in reasonable condition? A flag of 4 ½’ x 3 ½’ would be
