Hi welcome to the John Shield personal website. This site evolved from the John Shield storytelling site which was becoming cluttered with personal information. I now have two sites. This site has reached capacity. I prefer not to delete the older pages that may still be of interest. Therefore to see my latest photos follow the links on the home page to my photo pages. Note: each flickr link has a maximum capacity of 200 photos. Only the latest 200 photos are shown. To read my latest thoughts, follow the blog link.

Most of the photographs on this site have been taken by me with a Kodak DC265 digital camera that I bought in 1999. Early in 2005 I bought a new camera, a Panasonic fz20. Gradually more photos taken with the Panasonic will appear on the site. They are designated by 'fz20' appearing in brackets after the caption.
