The contents of The Stereoscopic Magazine
Published by Lovell Reeve, London, 1858-1865

Compiled by Julian Holland in 2002

The following contents of the five volumes of The Stereoscopic Magazine are based on a systematic examination of the set held in the British Library in London (P.P.1931.k).  These were originally supplied to the British Museum (of which the British Library was originally a part) and bear date stamps indicating the date of receipt of each monthly part.  Assuming the British Museum received its copy on or very shortly after the actual date of publication, the date stamp provides a useful indication of variation from the scheduled date of publication.  The titles have been taken from the contents pages and are not always identical with the titles on the photographs. The photographer has only been given when he is explicitly acknowledged. There are several instances where the photographer may be inferred. For example the Stonyhurst photos are presumably all by Fenton and possibly all the Indian photos by Captain Allan Newton Scott. (L; R used for left and right images of stereo pair, ‘left’ and ‘right’ for features within photograph.)
