	Anne’s First Meeting with Gilbert Blythe “Gilbert Blythe reached across the aisle, picking up the end of Anne’s long red braid, held it out at arm’s length an said in a piercing whisper, “Carrots! Carrots!”
The Torment of Red Hair Makes Anne Dye It! “Anne Shirley, what have you done to your hair?” “I dyed it” came the muffled reply “You dyed it!” “He promised me it would turn a beautiful raven black.” “Who?” “The peddler we met on the road!”
	Anne With Short Hair “Some girls loose their hair in fever, or sell it for money. There is nothing comforting or romantic to have your hair cut off because you dyed it!”
The Christmas Ball at Carmody “I could get Gilbert Blythe to stand on his head if I asked him too.”
	Anne Takes The Queen’s Examination “I wish there was some way I could help you Anne,” Diana said comfortingly.

“Wait you ninny! We tied for first place.”
	“Anne can’t we be friends now? This childishness has gone on long enough.” “But you hurt my feelings excruciatingly.” “That was over a year ago. I’m sorry I ever teased you about your hair. You have no idea how sorry.”
Anne At Queen’s Collage “Three cheers for Anne Shirley, winner of the Avery (scholarship).”
	Matthew Cuthbert Dies “If I'd been the boy you sent for, I could have spared you in so many ways.” “I never wanted a boy. I only wanted you from the first day. Don't ever change. I love my little girl. I'm so proud of my little girl.”
“ Mrs Cuthbert, Anne, I am very sorry for your loss.” Said Gilbert Blythe.
	“Oh Marilla, the tears don’t hurt me but the ache does” came the uncontrollable sob from Anne
“We were born, meant to be the best of friends, Anne.”
	“Come on I’ll walk you home, Carrots!”

Anne of Green Gables – The Sequel

	Finally Friends “I’m attempting to have my manuscript published in some of the newspapers and magazines. But you can’t tell anybody because it hasn’t happened yet.”


	“Well I have news too. Diana is engaged!” “Diana, engaged. To who?” “Fred” Gilbert said “Roly, Poly, Fred Wright! She only accepted because he’s the first to ask,” Anne replied mournfully.


	"Averill’s Atonement" “The sign read: ‘Congratulations to Avonlea’s own; Anne Shirley, winner of the Rollings Reliable Baking Powder Writing Competition.”


	“But, I don’t understand I didn’t enter it.” “No, I did,” Diana said triumphantly


	Diana Marries “Oh Anne I shall really miss you.”


	Gilbert Proposes “Anne, there’s something I want to ask you…” “Please Gil, not now, please don’t.” ’”But Anne, everyone expects it.” “Then we would be marrying for all the wrong reasons.”


	Kingsport Ladies Collage Anne is invited by Miss Stacey, her old school teacher to come and teach at Kingsport Ladies Collage. Little does Anne know all the trouble she is going to have with the pupils, teachers and community.


	“Hello, I am Miss Shirley, your new teacher.”


	The Sarcastic Miss Brooke “Welcome Miss Shirley. The teachers here refer to me as Brooke. Nobody calls me Katherine so I don’t exsect you to either, understood?”
Morgan Harris “Whenever we meet, Miss Shirley, disaster seems to lie in your path.”
	Old, Cranky and whining, Mrs. Harris “Well I do like you. You Anne girl.”


	Anne and Gilbert Meet at Kingsport “Anne, there’s something I want to tell you. You see I’m engaged to Christine. We’re to be married in Spring.”


	“Why Gil, that’s wonderful!”


	Anne Goes Home and Discovers Gilbert is very ill with scarlet fever “Marilla, there's a book of Revelations in everyone's life. I've been so wrong. If Gil were to - ... not knowing how I really care^.”

Gilbert Makes a Full Recovery

“It’ll be three years before I finish Medical School, and even then I can’t promise diamond sunbursts or marble hallways.”

“I don’t want sunburst or marble hallways, I just want you, Gil”

Anne of Green Gables – The Continuing Story

	Back Home Anne Returns to Prince Edward Island for the first time since Marilla’s death, only to find Green Gables in ruins.


	Anne Meets Diana “Oh Diana, Diana how I’ve longed for this moment. I have missed you so much.”


	“It’s lovely to see you too Henry.”

	Anne and Gilbert drive through Avonlea to see Green Gables, which is a mess, much to Anne’s disappointment.

	“There will never be anyone for me but you Gil.”
	Anne and Gilbert move to New York so that Gilbert can work at the hospital there.


	Anne Meet Writer Jack Garrison Jnr Jack appears to be a nice friendly person but while helping Anne write her book he steals the manuscript and claims it as his own!


	Anne and Gilbert are Finally Married “I now pronounce you husband and wife.”


	World War One Gilbert has enlisted as a doctor but Anne receives all her letters to him back and then the dreadful news comes. Gilbert has been filed as ‘missing in action’. Anne enlists as a nurse and goes looking for Gil.

	On the way, Jack Garrison Jnr gives his baby (Dominic) to Anne for safekeeping. In return Jack Garrison will help Anne look for Gilbert.
	Because of going into dangerous territory Anne is forced to disguise herself.


	Jack waiting to pick up Anne and take her and Dominic to safety.


	Because of her appalling accent and no identification papers Anne is thought to be a spy and is captured but escapes with her friends.


	Anne meets up with her friends, who made it to safety. While singing to the crowd she spots the person she came looking for in the first place…


	Gilbert! “Oh Gil, I thought you were dead!”





	The reunited couples are warned that fighting is about to break out and they are advised to leave the city.


	So they leave and go back to Prince Edward Island. Unfortunately Jack Garrison Jnr is murdered on the way leaving Dominic with a relative who also later dies. Anne swears she will find Dominic and adopt him.


	Anne picks up Dominic from Bright River Station, the same place where Matthew Cuthbert picked her up all those years ago.


	The now a happy family. “Promise me Gil that one day we will return to the Island and raise our family.” Gilbert keeps his promise and they return.
