If you use Norton Anti Virus make sure it is loaded before the sound
card drivers in your autoexec.bat file.
Move the LH AU30DOS.COM line to the bottom of the autoexec.bat file.

Download the Windows
9x 4.05.1160 or later reference driver to fix this problem

Find aurealgm in \Windows\System\
Rename aurealgm to aurealgm.old
Copy the new DLS midi patchset to \Windows\System\
Rename it to aurealgm
This problem might be fixed in future reference drivers
Game

Make sure you are using the latest drivers available for the sound
card.
If the sound card drivers aren't up to date try the Vortex 1 reference
drivers.
Make sure you are using the the latest version of the game or program.
Check the technical support section of the company the makes the game or
program in case they know of a solution.

Sound
problems with Windows NT4 drivers on multi-processor systems
There were known problems with the Windows NT4 drivers on
multi-processor systems but they were never fixed.
Windows NT4 drivers
will not install
Vortex 1 Windows NT4 reference drivers before version 1.17 and sound
card drivers based on them don't uninstall some parts of the drivers
which stops new drivers installing. Instructions to completely remove
the older Windows NT4 drivers are available here

A3D demos won't work in Windows 2000/XP
Only the Aureal A3D 3.0 demos work under Windows 2000 and XP, earlier
version of the Aureal A3D demos won't work.
