Welcome to Adele's 2005 page

My two years have been fairly boring and normal, with nothing in the slightest bit interesting happening except the normal interesting stuff that happens ;-)
In-between our last web page and this one, I have managed to finish both Year 8 and 9.  Year 9 was very different from any previous year, but homework still sucks and art it still a bludge.  I went through some very complicated and tedious friend shuffling, but my friends are still the most annoying, most in need of counselling and the most tiresome people ever bred (but they know I love them really).  I got a good final report again, with 5 excellent ratings (the highest) and 5 high ratings (second highest) and nothing lower.  Last year I also got an Endowed award at presentation day, the Year 12 of 2001 Award for Environment for looking after the school chickens all year, even during the holidays.  This year I got no award because I did very little on the award-qualifying-for front.

I did Commerce (boring but very useful), Visual Arts (a lot of fun and easy marks, to an extent) and Graphic Design (awesome wonderful subject, and not just because we were allowed to spend the whole lessons with earphones in, talking to people on MSN).

Horse riding is still a favourite pastime of mine, but unfortunately 2004 was sad as my old horsy Cody was retired and sent to the country.  So I tried my luck with spherical Arab mare Bundy, but was moved on this year to an only slightly insane Arab pony gelding called Silver.  I did a little bit of jumping with Bundy, but it wasn’t the same without Cody.  My main goal with Silver has been to stay on long enough to slow him down, something which is becoming very successful, as can be seen in the way that he is now so relaxed with me that he is practically falling asleep on his feet.  I can now trot quite confidently on Silver and can canter without having a major panic attack, if that counts as confidently.

This is me attempting to make Silver stop so dad can take a photo.

I broke my elbow in 2004 playing netball (strictly speaking, it was at netball training after falling over, but that somehow doesn’t have the same ring to it) meaning I missed the first semi-final, which was annoying to say the least because we lost the game.

2004 in netball was otherwise a good year, because I got moved up into the 14s age group, even though I was only 13.  I think I played rather well, forming one of the best goal defence teams with Ramya in GD, me in GK.

2005 in netball would have to be one of my best years ever. I was once again in my real age group (14s) but I had a great team with some really nice people on it. My coach, Ann, was also really nice and a great motivator. We did really well in the competition, coming 3rd, which was no disgrace as the teams that beat us were exceptional.

I may have inadvertently managed to get a job this year… as Dad has a swanky new job with some magazine; I get to take over his work with the web pages.

I got my hair cut to shoulder length last year and dyed it black. I’ve now to my natural brown colour, but I want to get it streaked green. Please…

I bought myself a swanky new computer a while ago; it is black, shiny and fast. Now that it is networked to the other computers (and therefore broadband internet), I spend almost every waking hour playing games or surfing the ‘net.

This year I rediscovered music and have since developed a superior taste in music to Dad, completely ignoring the fact that we listen to much of the same stuff.  As much as Dad would beg to differ, I do have a very wide ranging taste in music, the only prerequisite being that it is good music (something Dad doesn’t seem all that concerned about!).  I’m not great with music genres, but mostly I like: electro rock, stoner rock, classic rock, heavy metal, indie rock, new wave, industrial, industrial metal and random stuff that is good. Mostly I am obsessed with Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, Led Zeppelin and Franz Ferdinand, to name a few (because it would take too long to list all my obsessions).  I’m going to a Franz Ferdinand concert early 2006 with some friends, which shall be awesome!

Unfortunately, thanks to Dad’s genes, I still possess nil musical talent.

That is all that I have done over the last two years and it was very boring.  As Dad said while I was writing this, “Yes you’re right you haven’t done anything much this year, just got bigger and meaner.”

Cody kept trying to eat the camera and Dad.

This is Cody posing for the camera.

This is Silver and me standing for the camera.

This is Silver and me trotting.

Here we are trotting again.
