5E pt. 3, the third installment from "the most incredible rap act that you've ever seen", quoted from Thyme the Professional from their rugged coming of age jam, "Neva Seen". MUDD, PROOF, and THYME are 5 Ela the industry's answers to the age-old questions "Where is Michigan in this Hip-Hop game and what is their sound?" Receiving acclaim from underground heads here and abroad, in addition to Proof the Scientist, winning the 1999 Source MC battle, 5 ELA will soon to be in every rotation, coffee house and vehicle in the country.
Their new EP 5E pt.3 is all about "The E": the E meaning the Ela. Beginning to end this "3 man, 5 elements, acting as 1 man" team let's you know that "It's 5 Ela 4 Life". Hitting you with compositions like "Either Or", a song that in it's own clever way says it's time to start paying attention to Motown or there's going to be trouble. Then you have the sexual escapade, "Ain't no Love", a solo cut by Mudd the Specialist, produced by Jay Dee of the UMMAH (of A Tribe called Quest, Pharcyde, and Slum Village fame). Last but not least, "our feature presentation" outro is followed by "Ultra-Magnus", a powerful attack at all unworthy competition, with a chorus that's straight to the point. "It's 3 in 5E/ E for Ela/ dropping shit/ smashing opponents who think they want it/ you better/ have a vest/ stronger than Teflon/ when shit's on / you being shitted on/ ain't none better. Produced by JEWELS, a new, up and coming hit making producer, also from Detroit. Believe us when we say these boys are BAD and getting WORSE. 5 Ela is ready to take HIP HOP to the next stage. Proof left 5 Ela, to continue his career with D12. 5 Ela are still working together as a rap duo, hitting the Detroit streets with bangers.
Thyme will hook us up with a new one very soon...for the mean time, this will do.
