Freemasonry
is about people helping people, and its teachings are built around concern
for others, by caring for those in trouble, distress, sickness or need.
Freemasons support the golden rule - do unto others as you would wish them to
do unto you - and recognise all people as equal, regardless of race, creed or
social qualifications.
Freemasonry
is:
A universal organisation; an ethic for living; kindness in the
home; honesty in business; courtesy toward others; dependability
in work; compassion and concern for the less fortunate; tolerance
toward one’s fellow beings; resistance to evil; help for the
weak; love for one another; reverence and love for a
Supreme Being.
Freemasonry
is, most of all, a universally accepted way of life. It offers fellowship, character
building and a form of adult education, geared to the development of the
individual as a contributing member to the welfare of the community. Masonic ceremonies, which are held in private, are concerned with truth and the principles of morality. In those ceremonies Freemasons consider Stonemasons’ tools and the principles of architecture as useful symbols that serve to teach the basic moral truths. Also to impress upon members the virtues of faith, hope, charity, prudence, fortitude, temperance and justice. |
|
|
A Freemason is
a man of more than 18 years of age who cares for the world in which we live,
who is prepared to practise high moral standards and seeks excellence in all
he undertakes. If you share these values, then you are openly invited to make
contact with Lodge Dignity to join Freemasonry. ·
A
Freemason is someone who believes in family values and who is willing to
contribute to the betterment of society.
·
A law-abiding
citizen who seeks the fellowship of like-minded men. · A person who believes in the equality of all men and in the existence of a Supreme Being. |
