| After much farting around trying to make things fit, I settled on this pattern for the adapter bracket. Eventually I want to modify the original bracket so I don't need the adapter, but I wanted to make sure the alternator swap worked before I cut the rest to bits. the other problem is that the belt had been overtightened at some stage prior to me owning the car and the bracket has bent. You can see at the top edge of the pic that the power steering pump mount is also not right. They alternator belt path includes the steering pump pulley, so everything will need straightening at some other stage. To make the belt run true I had to make the bracket crooked. This is what took all the time because it was hard to get a reference on how crooked it had to be. Fit and try, cut, reweld, fit and try... |
