| Here's the complete stator assembly removed from the casing. Bosch have cleverly designed their alternators to use common parts and make servicing a breeze. Getting the coils out of the Marelli alternator requires the coil collection points to be unsoldered and the whole thing is a nightmare. I'm not sure what's worse - english or italian electrics. Trust the germans to get it right. The best bit about the Bosch alternator is that the regulator/brush assembly can be removed with the alternator in place and it's cheap. The Marellii one has aluminium 5mm hex head bolts and is in a bugger of a location to remove, so it's an alternator out job. Didn't even bother about the price! |
