And I am the Mother of the family. I was born in Nieuwenhagen (The Netherlands) on the 11th of March 1933. My Father was Johannes Mies. Born in Oude-en Nieuw-Gastel (Brabant Holland) on 13 Apr 1894. My Mother was Emilie Kec. Born in Herten (Germany) on 15 Feb 1908. My Father was a coal miner and worked for many, many years in the mines in Limburg .(Province of Holland). He died on 29 June 1970. I am sorry I couldn't be there to say good-bye. My Mother stayed home, looking after the children. I have 5 sisters and one brother. So, she had her hands full. She took care of us all her life. I've missed out on saying good-bye to her as well. All my sisters and my brother are still living in Holland. I've been back to Holland four times, for a holiday. Hope we can make it at least once more soon. It makes me feel really good to see them all again after years of separation. On the picture below are my sisters and my brother.
