Today I bought some new socks.. how interesting. But the socks were pretty interesting as they were japanese style with the big toe and little toes separated (like gloves.. in australia we have the all toe ones tho) So I thought that was pretty interesting... Also, I forgot to post a picture of the guys and girls from the school I visited on Wednesday. Here it is:

News update:
On Wednesday, I went with Fernando and a rotarian from his club to visit a local school to meet the new exchange students from India. We had an interesting time and talked about our country and also about the differences in Japan. Some of the students had been there for about a year and could speak very very good Japanese, and some had just come, so they hadn't learnt it yet. Fernando and I will go back another day to play cricket with them. Should be fun!

Well my weekend was packed full of fun and exciting things. On the Sunday I had a table tennis tournament in a town near my school and there were around 300 people from all around the area there. I think people were a bit worried about Fernando and I thinking that we might be pro table tennis champions just stopping through on our way to the Japanese National Table Tennis Championships... but they soon worked it out that we would be easily beaten. I nearly won a game, but I didn't... Fer and I have only been practicing for about 2 months and maybe most of the people in the room had been for about 3-6 years? Anyway, it was a good experience. After my game (cos i lost straightaway) I had to score for the next one and then after that there was about 4 hours of waiting around for everyone else to finish up so we could go home.
Lately it has been raining a lot, and I have been going by bus to school everyday, maybe after the typhoon has come and gone, it will be back to normal... but I am sure it is going to be very very very humid :S

I am a baka!
Today I cut my finger in a window (once again being accident prone). My finger is ok now, but it hurt a little bit, and had a little bit of blood :S. I also got my parcel from mum with the next load of supplies (lollies, chocolates, etc :D). Next weekend is my table tennis tournament, but I have now cut my finger, so I wonder how I will go should be ok... I also can't play the violin now (left hand, index finger :() Just have to wait.

Sorry everyone for not updating recently. I have just been extremely busy with school club and everything. I get home everynight at around 8 o'clock and am extremely tired so I don't have much time for anything else! Here is an update now. Next Sunday (not in two days) I will be having a table tennis tournament... I have got a little better at it, but I don't expect winning a game at all :D My school festival went really well and we sold all the cookies in the first part of the day, meaning we had the rest of the day to ourselves. Later in the day, I was asked to play the violin with a teacher who played the viola during the closing ceremony. Tomorrow I have another festival which is a friend's friend's festival and so I will go an check it out tomorrow.

Tomorrow is my school's festival. Today was the preparation day and the opening ceremony. For a while today, the school was all mecha kucha with boxes, people painting, poles, and all sorts of weird stuff as they were all decorating their own stores and things... My class is making a snow cone shop and for some reason the room is decorated with lots of spongebob stuff. I am also helping with the International club's store which is making Cookies to sell. Today at the opening ceremony, we had many weird and funny things to watch. Each class has something different to do, and those that are not doing a store, make a movie or something around those lines. One class took weird japanese commercials and copied them... that was pretty funny. Also, the teacher's did a kind of sketch. As the new building is going to be finished in a few months, we all have to pick what tables and chairs we want. So, all the teacher's dressed up into school uniforms and sat (like a normal lesson) in the chairs and tables and acted out a lesson with fights, and teacher's picking on kids sleeping and with phones.. and then they finally introduced each table and chair. We also had a catwalk of all the t-shirts everyone made from each class. I had to be a model and walk down the stage hehehe, it was pretty fun tho. More news on tomorrow... tomorrow! Now it is time to make some cookies.

More news on natural disasters.. We had another typhoon yesterday (not near us) but close enough to bring rain and rain and rain. Today the weather is fantastic, so I am happy about that, but this morning at about 2 o'clock, we had another earthquake, but this time it was in Hamamatsu. It was only registered as 3? I think, and it was not dangerous, but it was the first time for me to feel an earthquake. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking.. is this a dream?? My cupboards were creaking and I felt a bit funny, but I was a bit sleepy and went back to sleep. In the morning, I didn't want to say to my host family 'was there an earthquake?' cos I didn't know if it was a dream or it really happened! Luckily, it was in the paper, and my host mum mentioned it to me.
Lets just hope that all the natural disasters are over with for now... and Mt. Fuji doesn't erupt!!
