PUNTERS CLUB 2003 Welcome to the newest competition to hit www.sepponraiders.cjb.net. this comp is for all those horse fans out there and gives us an opportunity to bet stacks of cold hard cash without getting out your wallet. FINAL STANDINGS What a finish. Bozza and Mags went head to head in the last race with mags only claiming a second place (needed the win) resulting in Bozza taking out the comp. Bozza won $1916 on the last day to be awarded the inagriual Punters Club Crown. Highlights of the comp included the 'people's punter' l.wilmann consistently betting big bucks on the nose. big winners included spoon backing Fields of Omagh to win the Cox Plate and the biggest loss of the tournament occured in the same race with Peen blowing a huge lead and even bigger wad of cash on Lonhro, $1700 to be precise. Tune in next year for more of the same punting shambles. The basic gist behind this comp is each player starts off with $1600 and can lay any bet they like on any of the races on the selected dates below (wins and place bets only). minimum bet of $50 and each player has a $200 purse for each of the 8 selected race meets. the odds are taken from the results section of the newspaper the day after the races. it doesnt matter that some bookmaker underneath the foot bridge of clayton train station offered you juicy odds, the trusty age publication will be our bible. Additional rules include; if your horse is scratched your money is refunded and can be used the following week, and any winnings can be saved or bet on the next races that day or on following race meets. the punting king with the most cash in their purse at the end of the carnival wins. happy punting
