Elizabeth Oenema

From Anneke (RIN 848):
"At first I'll tel you a story.

Elizabeth Oenema (the grandma from your father and me) was born in 1886. She was 18 years old when my mother Antje Postma was born. She was married in 1904 with Jan Postma(

1876- and he died in 1911 (pheumonia)

Our grandma (we called her Beppe) was 25 y old when she became a widdow. The whole Postma family was emmigrated to America in 1904-1910) Also Jan Postma wanted to follow his family but our Beppe Elizabethe disliked it, she wanted to stay wit her family in St. Nicolaasga. So when her husband died the family in America wanted to help her and they asked her send us two of your children with the familyname of the Postmaside; Ynze and Antje (grandpa and grandma in America's names were Ynze and Antje).

Beppe was furious and sad I take care of my 5 children was her answer. Her mother take care of her and her children. But it was a very heavy time, because she has no money.

She has a strong mind and I think that she give it through to her children. "
