Basic Steps

1.    Load into mapinfo all the lines, polygons or points layers you want to convert.

2.    Zoom out to show all the parts you want in the map window (eg all of your city)  and turn layer visibility off for the ones you don't want exported.
note:  the map window must not be maximised or have scroll bars turned on.
3.    Turn on labels for any objects that should have a name derived from the mapinfo table (eg Street). You can use a label expression for a name based on multiple columns .

     eg HouseNumber + " " + StreetName
gives a name like '42 Little Pig Bay'

4.    Convert map to KML (Keyhole Markup Language - XML file format used by Google Earth).

5.    Open KML file in Google Earth and use the Google Earth editing functions to change names, colours, zooms, polygon fills, add delete folders, reorder layers/folders etc.

6.    Select folder or object in Places list and use Save As to make final .kmz file (KMZ is simply a zipped KML file).

7.    Drag the layers to My Places to have it added to the Google Earth startup file.

Note: the program changes the map window to Lat/Long WGS 84 and changes label settings so be careful if saving existing work spaces.

You can use Map/Clone View in Mapinfo to make a copy of the current map view before running the program if necessary.
