Comedy, "A Foot in the Door" by Richard Harris, Directed by Fiona Hough.
May Archer, an elderly widow, is entertaining in her London semi. The first "guest" to arrive is Warren, a fledgling wardrobe salesman, followed by Desmond (home security), his more experienced counterpart. Next on the scene are Stan and Angela, keen to measure up May's bedroom for decoration, and then the pneumatic Jilly arrives with her electric keyboard. Each salesperson adopts a persona they think will persuade their prospective client to put her money their way, but May's inability to wrench her eyes from her TV - and her lack of interest in any of their products - look set to wreck their hopes. This madcap comedy comes to a rousing conclusion when May saves the day with a clever scheme that leaves everyone satisfied.

Comedy, "Busybody" by Jack Popplewell, Directed by Fiona Carter.
Detective Superintendent Harry Baxter is plagued by a head cold and two busybodies - a corpse that vanishes and the officious office cleaner, Mrs Piper, who found it. Trying to glean facts from the morass of Mrs Piper's chatty verbosity requires all Baxter's never large store of tact and patience. Motives for murder abound - all the office staff and the corpse's wife are suspect. His self-control snaps completely when the corpse himself walks in alive and well. But Mrs Piper still insists that there was a body, though she no longer knows whose. Baxter is persuaded to continue his investigations, enthusiastically hindered by Mrs Piper. However, it is she who finally identifies both corpse and murderer and actually obtains a confession. Very typically she then tidies the office and throws away the confession.
