The Group was formed in 1978 at Mooroolbark High School by Arline and Tom Myers. The first show was a Revue called "Carry On Mooroolbark", with a cast of about 35, only two of which having had any previous stage experience.

Following that exciting beginning, two or three shows were performed each year, including one act and three act plays, revues, and pantomimes.

In 1983, the group changed format to an 18+ group, performing mostly 3-act Comedies.
