
This is the longitudinal gib and adjuster screw. As you can see there is a gap between the face of the head and the gib slot. The gap measured at 0.43mm (.017inches). There should be no gap there.

I removed the adjuster screw, nickel brazed it up then remachined the face to be just the right amount thicker to be a nice neat fit in the slot.

I also drilled and tapped an M6x1 hole in case I wish to fit a little clamp to hold the screw head from moving by itself from machine cutting vibrations. I've used the mill a fair bit since doing this mod and it hasn't moved so looks like a clamp won't be necessary.
