Around the house...
Within the campus centre the small café coffee shop has light meals and the sandwich bar at the west end has sandwiches prepared while you wait. The Staff Club near the campus centre and Wellingtons Restaurant within the centre both have hot meals and both are licenced to sell alcohol. The staff club is quicker and cheaper and also open in the evenings, Wellingtons is more up market but only open for lunch.

Off campus there are two localities with a number of restaurants. The closest is Clayton shopping centre (about 2km from the campus – buses 733 in the direction of Oakleigh or 703 in the direction of Middle Brighton). In Clayton Road before the railway line are Wei Wah Chinese Restaurant, Clayton Korean BBQ, another Korean restaurant,  and the Singapore Hut .

In front of Train Station (Carinish Rd) around the corner is La Porchetta  pizza (Italian), Agra Sweet (Indian takeaway) and Moza Indian cafe. Across the railway line is Lunico Hotel with a restaurant and gaming machines, Malaysian Garden, Kyu Japanese, Warung Gudeg Indonesian Restaurant (highly recommended), Café Corso Italian, the Gardenia Creek Café (mainly for coffee and pastries), Café Europa for pizza, Wai Kee Malaysian, ES TELER 77, D&A Takeaway, and McDonalds.

In Centre Road to the east about 100m is Korean Garden and about 100m further is KFC . To the west  we have Subway, and about 150m west along Centre Road is River Kwai, a very good Thai /Burmamese restaurant.

The other local shopping centre with numerous generally more upmarket restaurants is Pinewood located about 3km north along Blackburn Road (bus 703 in the direction of Blackburn or 737 in the direction of Croydon). The main restaurants here are Enzo Italian restaurant, Pinewood Pizza, Pasta and Ribs (they also deliver tel. 98021413), Doneos Pizza, Bozzies Seafood (closed on Sundays), Bo Bo Chinese and Po Hing Chinese, and Samsara middle eastern food (also closed on Sunday). Most restaurants are closed on Monday evenings.

The Glen shopping centre is further away and located around the Glen Waverley train station. It also has a range of restaurants and cinemas. Take bus 737 or 742 in the direction of Glen Waverley. Chadstone Shopping mall is further still. It is one of  the largest suburban shopping mall in Melbourne and has numerous restaurants, informal eating places and cinemas. It is a major bus terminal and can be reached by bus numbers 742, 800, 802, 804, and 862.
