Welcome to the web page of the Bellbowrie Neighbourhood Watch Group.

Neighbourhood Watch is a 'Community Policing' program, supported by the Queensland Police Service.  We operate as a group of approximately 900 homes, divided into several zones, under the support of a 'Zone Co-ordinator'.  Each zone supports approx. 10 blocks, each comprising about 10 homes.  Each block is supported by a 'Block Co-ordinator'.  Residents are educated and encouraged to be alert for any suspicious or criminal activity in the area, and to report information to the block or zone co-ordinator, or to the police. Full details of the purpose and structure of Neighbourhood Watch, can be found at the Queensland Police Service, Community Policing page.

Our group is operated by a group of dedicated volunteers, supported by our Police Liaison Officer.  Our group services most of the Bellbowrie area. To check if your home lies within our area of concern, you can check the map, provided for your information.

When any criminal activity or intelligence (concerning our area) is reported to Livesay Road, BellbowriePolice, Sergeant Murray Watson e-mails the information to our secretary.  The information does not identify specific addresses (to maintain privacy) however the knowledge it provides allows residents to be informed, and take appropriate precautions to prevent themselves becoming victims of crime. A compilation of comfits, Police reports and Plansafe alerts, relating to our area can be found at 'News & Comfits'.

The success of our group has been largely due to the large number of residents being actively involved over the years.  If any one would like to become more actively involved in Neighbourhood Watch, they would be made very welcome.
