Poetry Insecure
Remember how things used to be
Back in the early days
You looked at me with lustful eyes
And a tender loving gaze
But now you find it difficult
To even say you care
The romantic gestures you once showed
Have become so rare
I long to hear those three short words
But you just don’t understand
You simply refuse to say them
Prefer to have the upper hand
You point out my flaws constantly
You are quick to criticise
But I don’t take it personal
Because I’ve seen you through your eyes
I know you are intimidated
By my capability
And that your cruel words only come from
Your own insecurity
