Jealous
When I first knew I felt something
for you,
I let my only chance slip away,
To tell you what you mean to me,
And say what I needed to say.
Believing he wasn’t good enough,
I knew the relationship would end,
And I could then be left to comfort you,
As more than just a friend.
But now you’ve found someone new,
I fear I cannot compete,
This time it looks set to last,
He’s swept you off your feet.
How do I get over this constant
pain,
When I know we can never be?
Is it even love I feel for you,
Or just plain jealousy?
Has this all been a challenge,
To prove that I can feel?
Have I finally let my guard down,
And I’m feeling something real?
