Memories

We’ve shared such special memories
Since the day that we first met
I treasure them deep in my heart
I never will forget
 
Our first new year’s eve together
A sweltering summer night
There was roof climbing and fireworks
And that water balloon fight
 
There were nights we danced so close
On the dancefloor at F4
Your sexy moves were teasing
And left me wanting more
 
That night at the Nickelback concert
When we found our special song
How you sang the words to me
I too have loved you all along
 
The fun times we’ve had cooking
The picnics in the park
Watching movies at the drive-ins
On warm nights in the dark
 
I love the feeling of falling asleep
Wrapped in your embrace
Of sleeping in on Sundays
And waking to your handsome face
 
The days we trawled through markets
And walked in lavender fields
Our spa and massage together
The way you make me feel
 
So many barbecues with friends
Nights cuddled before an open fire
Lying under the stars on a blanket
You fulfil my every desire
 
The trips to Ikea for homewares
How you tried salsa dancing for me
When all you really wanted
Was to be home watching TV
 
The way you wore a suit and tie
To take me to the gala
And how your homemade pancakes are better
Than any we’ve eaten at Pancake Parlour
 
That bitterly cold morning
When we stood amongst the crowd
Watching Italy fight for the cup
The Azzurri made us proud

Weekends spent choosing our dream home
And riding the monorail
Nights spent chatting online
Love notes sent by email
 
The luxury of the Shangri La
Walking Sydney’s streets in the rain
Catching the tram in Melbourne
Countless hours on the morning train
 
We’ve seen fish at the aquarium
Snorkeled on the coral reef
Discussed our hopes and dreams
Shared our values and beliefs
 
We trekked through ancient rainforest
Drank tropical fruit wine
With you I can face anything
You are my one lifeline
 
I want you to remember these
Sweet moments we have shared
And not be afraid of losing me
There’s no need to be scared
 
For even though life comes to end
True love lasts forever
And as long as you hold me in your heart
We will always be together
