Salty Rain

Struggling to breathe...
Inhale...exhale
Fighting with the lump in my throat
and the dagger in my heart...
I blink and a solitary tear
slides down my cheek
into my mouth
where it burns like acid
on my tongue...
More teardrops follow
as my mind, a turbulent thundercloud
sends down more salty rain,
to drown me in my pain and sorrow...
