Our New Store opened on 7th January, 2008
We've left the mall! The CBD has finally gotten so vacant, that staying in the centre was unviable.
Instead, we've moved to our own
building in North Ipswich, next to Jets Rugby Leagues Club!
Formally the Kingma Camping building, we bought the building in Feb 2006, and
have spent the past 6 months renovating it into a great new office, with a light
and airy feel.
Street Parking is right at the door. Disabled access is via the front door.
Even better, the extra space means we can keep an even larger slection of great new frames and sunglasses in store, making us one of the largest optical centres in the area!
So come see the "New Look", and see how we can make a new you of YOU!

With the new store comes new examination equipment!
And have we got the best for you!
While many practices keep their equipment budgets small, and work with only the basics required to test eyes for glasses, at New Look Eyewear we see things in a different light...
The best equipment gives the best
eye test (When used by the best optometrist, of course ;)
We've just invested over $60,000 purely on optometry equipment, so that the
person who counts the most benefits the most...You!
It includes new chair and stand equipment from Italy...the Panuvision Moon.

Also, a brand new state of the art
Optopol PTS-910 visual field screener.
Where some of our competitors still take 15-20 minutes per eye to perform full
glaucoma assessment using old style technology, our new Optopol field screener
has cut this down to under 4 minutes an eye!

What does all this mean for you?
Only the most thorough eye tests by the most thorough optometrists.

We've also purchased the latest in Optometric
technology...
The Canon Digital Fundus Camera.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide the best in product and services, we have purchased the latest in digital imaging technology... the Canon Retinal Camera...

This incredible equipment allows us to take extremely
detailled photographs of the fundus...the back lining of the eye.
It can detect signs of diabetic eye changes, help to find clients suffering
from glacoma, and is unsurpassed in identifying macular degeneration, not to
mention any condition affecting the retina lining the back of the eye.
How good are these photos? Here's some examples we've taken earlier this year.
Firstly, a photo of a totoplasmosis parasitic scar (Picked
up as a child from a pet dog not on worming products) on the retina of a 43
year old client, who was totally unaware of the problem in her eye.
(Click on the pics to see higher resolution photos)
And another of diabetic retinopathy changes in the back of the eye.
It even has the capability of taking great photos of the front of the eye, to monitor corneal and eyelid changes, such as this huge pterygium.
Incredibly, even the larger pictures have been reduced 5 times from their normal size and resolution, to make them small enough to show on the web page! That's how good the resolution of the camera is.
Best of all, unlike our "Chain Store" competitors
who charge as much as $50 for the privilege (in the small number of stores who
actually have a camera), we include fundus photography as part of our regular
"bulk billed" eye examinations!
Again, just one more way in which we differ from our competitors in customer
service and price!
