Second Nature, 2000 Mixed Media Installation Bonsai tree, reconstructed TV set, VCR, glass, wood, organic soil The video installation Second Nature employs a TV set that has been reconstructed so that its screen - which is mounted on four wooden columns - is in horizontal position, facing upwards. On top of the centre of the screen there is a live Bonsai tree. An image of a root representing the root of the Bonsai tree is played by a VCR on the same screen. This overlap between the actual tree and its virtual root creates an illusion of completeness.
