Status: Resident / Common
The Dusky Moorhen is common on the Nepean River often surrounded by chicks in the Spring.
Size: 35-38 cm
Voice: Many shrill notes.
Nesting Ecology: Nests on a bed of reed stems and dried grass on a broken down tussock of grass or reeds.
Australian Distribution: Eastern Australia to King Is. apart from Tasmania and Cape York.
