Status: Resident / Common
The Willie Wagtail is one of our best known garden birds, they can be seen anywhere in Penrith skipping around and chasing insects. This mother was constantly darting off to catch insects and feed them to this extremely hungry chick.
Size: 19-21 cm
Voice: A chattering musical song
Nesting Ecology: The nest is a neat cup-shaped structure, usually on the horizontal branch of a tree near water, but may be in a shed or veranda or in a vine on a house.
Australian Distribution: Australia generally, but only accidental to Tas.
