Other Interests

As you can gather from this site I'm interested in Role-playing and 3D computer artwork. but I'm also interesting in several other things.

While role-playing is my main hobbie and indeed many of my other interests relate back to it, it's those other interests which I feel add flavour to my games.

Make-up:

I have a keen interest in special effects make-up. I have looking into it and played around a lot myself, making wounds and effect for some of the freeforms I've helped with. At one point I was asked to cut my head off and drive a stake though my chest. While that might seem like a rather voilent threat, it was in fact a lot of fun although rather sticky.

Movies:

I like movies and the way they are made. I'll watch almost any sci-fi, fantasy or historical movie, because I love they way other times and places are created. I also enjoy the art of telling a story.

Music:

Generally speaking my music tastes are for instrumental pieces (such as movie soundtracks) or for 70s and 80s music. I also like some modern music but not as much. I guess I'm getting old. Songs in my view should have lyrics (that is to say more tan one) that create a setting within their own right. Dance music is fine for dancing, but it's not hat I like to listen to for very long.

Computer games:

I like Real-Time-Stratagy games. for several reasons, I like the format, I can't watch First-Person-Shooters because they give me motion sickness (And I'm crap at 'em.) I also like the build and use style of many RTS games. Currently I play Neverwinter Knights.

Writing:

Much of my writing is for Role Playing Games, but I also enjoy the act of writting itself. So at times might work of short stories, etc. Currently I'm trying to stretch my writing skills, by working on a short play. No I'm not looking fr it to be produced or anything. I'm writing it because it's a challenge. Although wen it's finished, or at least the first draft is done, it may get added to this site for comments, but don't hold your breath.
