& C Associations Below is a working list of the Regional P&C’s priorities. This list will be refined
over time and form the basis for actions of the Regional Council in promoting
public education. 1. Funding for public schools 2. Free, universal
public pre-school education 3. Targeted resources
and programs for middle school and other transition years 4. Timely, early
support for students with identified needs 5. Personalised learning for
students, so that, ideally, every student is engaged in their own learning 6. Curriculum 7. School leadership 8. Professional
development for teachers 9. Promotion and
performance of public schools 10. New school designs,
to facilitate new teaching methods, new technology and a greater emphasis on
group work and student management of their own learning 11. Maintenance and
capital works 12. School of the future
