Presentation Summer 2005/06
|
The presentation for
the 2005/06 Summer Season was held on 21st May in the meeting room at
Granville Pool. It was wonderful warm afternoon, and as normal everyone
had a good time.
The two most sort
after awards, the boys and girls club point score, went to Michael Hatton
and Alison Horlyck.
It was extremely
pleasing to see that 20 swimmers broke 66 club records over the past
twelve months. The top boys record breaker was Derek Leung with 12 records
and for the girls, Paige and Larissa Blake both set 8 new records. |

|
Over the previous twelve months, 19 different
swimmers had represented the club at either Metropolitan, State or National
Championships or in the finals of the Speedo Sprint Series. Congratulations
to all those swimmers.
The winner of this years Club
Relay Championship was DFAB (Photo left). Congratulations to Daniel Sutcliffe,
Felicity Whitney,
Alyse Akkary and Bianca Slaviero.

After the formal part of the afternoon was
over, the more informal part started. This started off with "wet games" in
the pool. As it was a glorious autumn afternoon, most swimmers joined in. |

|
The hit of the
afternoon were the noddle rafts, which were proved to be virtually
indestructible despite the best efforts of some teams.
Not unexpectedly,
everyone was fiercely competitive. In the end, the team comprising of Ryan
Frost, Maddison Blake, Paige Blake, Liza Greig and Alyse Akkary came out
on top.
|
|
After everyone
dried off and had a well deserved afternoon tea,
swimmers retired to the "padded room" for some more fun and games.
After showing their
prowess at tossing chocolate eggs, blowing up balloons and various types
of crawling, swimmers competed in the "5 caps" race. Congratulations to Alyse Akkary who won the final in the time of 19.9 seconds.
Much thanks must
go to all those that helped to make this such an enjoyable afternoon.
