MODELLING

At Sensual Image, we are always looking for both male and female models to further enhance our portfolio. If you have interesting tattoos or piecings as well, we would love to hear from you.
Apart from the payment which is normally around $100 for approximately a 2 hour photoshoot ( and about 1 hour in make-up), we will email you the photos we like suitably sized for an online portfolio and to email to you friends/loved ones. Photographic prints of your favourite image will be available for purchase at our normal rates.

We have only a few conditions:

• You must be 18 years of age or older and be able to provide a drivers licence, photo id or passport to prove it.

• Nudity is not a requirement, however whether your comfort zone includes nudity or not, you must have a genuine desire to take photographs that will showcase your unique beauty as a woman (or man).

• You should live close to, or be willing to travel to our studio in South East Queensland

The images in our galleries range from the highly erotic nude and non nude images, to anonymous bodyscapes, to glamour shots were the model can be wearing nothing but a smile or be fully covered. All the work we do follows the Sensual Image Philosopy of creating images that embody sensuality.

There is a lot of tasteless and boring pornography avaiaible on the internet, and it is something that does not hold any appeal to either my wife or myself either as viewers or photographers. We do however love to create imaginative nudes or partial-nudes of a highly erotic nature. I am particularly partial to the anonymous nude and erotic images, using contrast and shadows to both hide yet tease the viewer. We enjoy the challenge and subtlety in this kind of work.

More important to me than whether a model will or will not pose nude are other qualities such as the model's comfort with and confidence in their beauty, bodies, and sexuality - as well as her creativity as a model.

If you have high discomfort with any of these things, than modeling will be a challenge for you. Ask yourself if you are willing to "work" on overcoming your own "less-than-positive" self-image and inhibitions. Our culture can be tough on a woman's self-image - but only if you let it. Modeling can sometimes be the vehicle to gain new confidence in your body and sexuality.

We expect every new model to be nervous, especially when posing nude, that is natural and we can help you overcome this, after a while, you will forget that you don't have any clothes on and can concentrate on getting the most out of your photo shoot.

If you are really serious about modelling, then you need to practise it. One of the most important aspects of modelling is your facial expression, and if you can't "put on a face" then you will have trouble creating really good photos. I have seen a number of models with absolutely gorgeous faces, stunning bodies, yet put them in front of a camera, and they stand there and say "What now?" which makes things really hard to get good photos, and on the other hand we have shot with models who might not rate a second glance on the street, but they know what looks good, and have produced some stunning photos.

Practise your facial expressions and your posing. An actress has to convey feelings and emotion whilst on a stage. She has the tone of her voice, body language, other character all to build a believable story. As a model, all you have is your expressions and your pose. Your eyes are the windows to your soul, anyone can do the "dead bored" look or the "scared rabbit" look. Use the mirror! Find some photos that you like and practice in the mirror until you can do those faces on demand every single time. Find your "look":the expression/pose that makes you look great - Remember "Blue Steel" from Zoolander - Well, try to have more than one "look" in your repertoire.
