The Diva Game

The Diva Game can be played by any group of stampers - one person is chosen each round to be the "Diva" - and everyone else sends that person some small but lovely staming gift.

And any good Diva needs to thank and acknowledge her friends very sweetly, and that's what I'm doing here.

I was picked as the Diva for April 2005 in our local group, and here's what I gathered together ...

Some ribbons and braids ...

Some more ribbons ...

Some paper and things ...

Some other paper and other things ...

Some tags and things...

Aren't I lucky!!

Diva Update! Well, it gets better - not only did one more parcel arrive (thanks, Lai Sie!), but I had a stamping enveing with friends, and spent the whole evening tinkering with a small book. Apart from the book itself (30c from the Salvation Army shop) everything that went into this "Diva Altered Book" was a Diva gift - even the glue and paint! I made myself finish in the one evening, and insisted on keeping the project moving, rather than getting bogged down. So it's all quick and fun, and was a great learning experience. Here's the photos:

Front cover :

Page with cool library pockets

Page with vintage ladies (just photocopies, or inkjet prints - nothin' fancy!)

Mmm, love the lace - random bits from a book page was a fun touch...

Tags with sneaky messages hidden...

And the back cover ... The paint here was a lovely thing to use. Just plain ol' acrylic paint (like kids use at school) but you can build up layers, wash over elements you want to tie together. This may not be a totally amazing book, but I'm showing it off because it was FUN to make. You've got to muck around to get comfortable with your materials, don't you?
