  • Office of Hearing Services - Objective: To reduce the consequences of hearing loss in the community by ensuring high quality, cost-effective hearing services are available to eligible clients.
  • Australian Hearing - is a government subsidised service that includes hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting and hearing rehabilitation for children and young adults up to the age of 21, as well as most aged pensioners, most veterans and war widows.
    Children and young adults can contact Australian Hearing directly to make an appointment. Call 13 17 97. Children and young adults do not need to apply for a voucher.
    Aged and disability pensioners must complete an 'Application for Hearing Services for adult applicants' and receive a 'Hearing Services Voucher'
    • Disability support pension - If you can't work full-time because of a serious, "long-term" health problem or disability, you may be eligible for Disability Support Pension.
    • Carer Payments - for carers of older people, adults, and children with disabilities living at home in need of full-time care and attention.
    • Carer Allowance - for parents or carers of children and adults with a disability. The payment of Carer Allowance is free of income or assets tests and is not taxable.
